J\u00e4mtland artisan food at the top of the Swedish Championship in Artisan Food<\/h1><\/h2><\/div>

J\u00e4mtland continues to distinguish itself as one of Sweden’s premier food regions! When this year’s Swedish Championship in Artisan Food was decided in Kristianstad on October 8\u20139, the county’s producers brought home a total of 15 medals: five gold, nine silver, and one bronze. Several products were also named “Best in Class,” an award given to the highest-rated product in its category. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Swedish Championship in Artisan Food is organized by Eldrimner and gathers artisan food producers from across the country. The competition highlights quality, knowledge of raw materials, and craftsmanship, and this year’s results show that J\u00e4mtland’s artisan food stands strong nationally. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

Gold medals and Best in Class<\/h2>\n<\/div>

Three J\u00e4mtland products received both a gold medal and the “Best in Class” award:<\/p>\n

  • Sk\u00e4rv\u00e5ngens bymejeri for the blue cheese Stanford Bleu<\/li>\n
  • Tivarsg\u00e5rds mejeri for Tivars salad cheese<\/li>\n
  • B\u00f6rtnans fj\u00e4llvattensfisk for Smoked Mountain Char<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In addition, B\u00f6rtnans fj\u00e4llvattensfisk took gold for Cold-smoked Rainbow Trout Fillet and \u00c5sbergets G\u00e5rdsmejeri gold for the hard cheese Herr Ober.<\/p>\n<\/div>

    Breadth and quality throughout the county<\/h2>\n<\/div>

    In addition to the gold medals, several producers were awarded silver and bronze. Among the medalists are Fj\u00e4llsta Skogstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rd, Flammans Skafferi, Osterian af Jemtland, Tivarsg\u00e5rds mejeri, Sk\u00e4rv\u00e5ngens bymejeri, and B\u00f6rtnans fj\u00e4llvattensfisk. Together, they demonstrate the breadth that characterizes J\u00e4mtland’s artisan food, from fish, cheese, and dairy products to beverages and processed raw materials.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
